Always protect yourself — even if you’ve been told no before.

Getting declined for life insurance happens more than people realize, and it doesn’t mean you’re uninsurable. It usually means one insurer, based on their specific underwriting rules, said no. Other insurers have different risk criteria entirely.

Common reasons for a decline:
→ Certain pre-existing health conditions
→ High-risk occupations or hobbies
→ Recent travel to specific countries
→ Incomplete or inconsistent medical history on the application

What most people don’t know: a decline from one insurer isn’t final. Working with a broker (not going direct to one company) means your application can be shopped across multiple insurers, each with different underwriting appetites — one company’s decline is often another’s approval.

There are also simplified issue and guaranteed issue policies designed specifically for people who don’t qualify for standard coverage — smaller payouts, but real protection, no medical exam required for guaranteed issue.

The point is: don’t assume “declined” means “uninsurable.” It usually means you were looking in the wrong place.
